Spectroscopy generally deals with light and color interference and diffraction phenomena, line spectra, spectrophotometry and chemical analysis. The High School Equipment grant is to help foster the study of spectroscopy in high schools.
Teachers who directly or indirectly employ spectroscopy in their curriculum are eligible to apply for the High School Equipment Grant. These are usually teachers of biology, chemistry, physics and general science. Typically 50% of the proposals are funded. Public or private schools must be located in the SSP membership area.
